Winter In Kelowna
The winter is harder for some because in the summer it’s so easy to find activities outside; the weather is gorgeous and all you want to do is be outside. By the time winter comes you wonder how you’re going to stay active and not just hide indoors until all of the snow is gone. Kelowna has so many things to do through the winter; just like the summer we would never have to be bored. I picked a couple to talk about, mainly the ones you hear about the most.
Something I think is always fun for the evening is skating downtown Kelowna at Stuart Park. With the rink being outdoors, and the lights around it, it’s a really cool experience. Being down by the water, granted it can be pretty cold at times, there is no shortage of beauty. I find it a lot better than the indoor rinks. Downtown you get to see the lake, feel the breeze coming from the water; it’s much more refreshing than just being indoors.
Big White ski resort is a favorite of many! With so much to do and such beautiful scenery how could you not love spending time up there? With amazing skiing and snowboarding that the whole family can enjoy, sleigh rides, tubing as well as outdoor skating, it’s definitely a place worth spending some time at.
Another ski resort close to us is Silver Star. This mountain is toward the Vernon area but still only 75km outside of Kelowna. With great activities such as, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, night skiing, snowboarding, skiing and amazing scenery this place will have the whole family having a blast.
If you feel like taking a break from the outdoors, for something different Kelowna’s art galleries are always something interesting to check out, especially if your one who appreciates the world of art. Kelowna has tons, featuring local artists as well as other Canadian artists.
If your looking, there is always something to do here in Kelowna!
