The jewelry shows we attend are, in one word, overwhelming. The convention center in Las Vegas is over 2 million square feet. If my math is right, that’s 45 football fields full of jewelry. And jewelry is small! Each booth has hundreds if not thousands of glittering pieces of jewelry and there are thousands of booths. How do we choose what to bring home to Kelowna & cjex.net? Read our thoughts on these pieces from the 2013 show:
This gorgeous ring from Parade won the coveted Jewelers Choice Award for 2013. That’s not why we had to have it (although we agree on it’s fabulousness!) This ring is a wearable piece of art. It combines not only various shapes of diamonds but also multiple colors. I love how the pink diamond flirts so perfectly with the array of yellow diamonds. The swoops of diamonds & yellow gold pulls everything together. In the designers words “Our 2013 award-winning design features fancy diamonds in a spectrum of colors including rich golden tones, blush and flashes of champagne. The unique colors are further enhanced by a medley of shapes and milgrain detail.” We call it brilliant.
When I saw this in Vegas my immediate reaction was to ask “what other colors do you have?” but was kind of intrigued by the fact that they only chose this icy blue topaz to accompany the classic pearl. It’s like timeless meets fresh. I dug how the blue topaz just sets off the pearl… and now somehow I can’t imagine it without! I also really appreciate that the chain is adjustable from 18″ to 16″. A small thing but suddenly it works with so many more necklines. This would make a hands down go to necklace… the one you grab when you’re in a hurry (maybe hit the snooze button too many times) but you know that this will look good with whatever you choose to wear that day.
