So often customers ask us “where’s your favorite place to eat?” We are total foodies over here so we’re always talking about where we ate out and how it was. Plus we have a vegan, a vegetarian and some gluten-frees on staff… all in all a demanding crew! Here’s our favorite hot spots:
Cabana Bar and Grille
Located in the lower Mission it’s a short drive but so incredibly worth it. There’s something for everyone. The pizzas are really good but my favorite is the Roast Chicken Truffle Pasta… it’s so yummy. Plus they have gluten free options on all their pizza’s and pasta’s so if you’re intolerant you can still have a great meal.
Located upstairs from Sturgeon Hall on Water Street, we can walk from the store. As the name suggests it’s a pizza joint but without a doubt the best pizza of my life (Italy itself is a close second!) I always have the Pancetta Piccante- lots of pancetta, fresh basil and thin crunchy crust. My husband builds his own… usually involving prosciutto, blue cheese and garlic. If you’re a vegetarian they have tons of cheese and vegi options to build your own pizza. Very romantic and quaint but very few tables. Be prepared for a wait or better yet make a reservation.
Located on Sunset Drive. Recently expanded but you still need to make a reservation. What I like best is their menu is constantly changing based on local, in season offerings and paired with Okanagan’s best wines. You want to spend the evening here… linger… relax… enjoy. Their calamari is incredible. Not a lot of offerings for a vegetarian (they usually have one main course for the vegi-lover) but you can pair up some yummy appies instead. Don’t forget the wine!
Located on Water Street by the Keg. One of our favorite places to go for a drink after work. Quite often you will find CJEX staff at the bar having one of Raudz famous fresh fruit martini’s. Plus they usually have some pretty stunning local beer on tap. Definitely check out the Backhand of God if you like a dark beer. Stay for dinner if you like comfort food. Rod Butters makes a burger that reminds me so much of this tiny bistro we went to night after night in Paris. Our vegetarian’s always seem to go for the gnoochi… it seems like it’s made with lots of love!
Have fun, try them out and be sure to let us know how it goes!
