Lisa and I headed to the beautiful State of Texas and the wonderful city of Dallas for this years jewelry show. And man, oh man, was it wonderful!!!
We actually stayed outside of Dallas, in a charming town called Grapevine. Grapevine is about 30 mins from Dallas (where all the good shopping is). We stayed at the Gaylord Texan Resort which is the home of the Dallas Cowboys (yes, we saw a few)…. No big deal. The resort was beautiful! I would highly recommend it for families, couples and just groups of friends wanting to get away. Personally, I can’t wait to go back!!
We spent a couple of afternoons lazing by the pool… That Texas heat will get you quick, so we stayed hydrated (and happy) with delicious Pina Coladas and Peach Margaritas!
We took one day to drive in to Dallas and spend some time shopping. We went to Highland Park Village where we indulged in an amazing lunch of Smoked Salmon and Crabcakes (obviously paired with delicious white wine). After lunch we cruised around the Village and did some shopping damage… An hour cab ride/nap later, we found ourselves in Plaos at the Shops at Legacy. This area was fantastic. Super hip and funky. There was great shopping and restaurants. We popped in to Kendra Scoot to check out some of their amazing baubles (gorg)! And then headed over to a little spot called Taco Diner, where we obviously had some Tacos… I also tried a Jalapeño Margarita and it was outta this world good! Wish I could have one right now!
There’s lots more to say, stay tuned for part 2… including an NFL Hall of Famer!
